Join us on Sunday morning, November 11th as we say “Karibu!” (that’s Swahili for ‘You’re Welcome!) to the New Life Band. Our Sanctuary will be a-hoppin’ and a-rockin’ that morning as we’re treated to a musical celebration with one of East Africa’s premier music groups! Our 8:30 am worship experience will feature the music of the New Life Band, they’ll be sharing stories of their mission work in East Africa to our Sunday School and Adult Ed. classes, and there will be a special concert in lieu of worship at 10:45 am.
The New Life Band 2018 Tour marks their 40th year of music ministry in service to youth throughout Tanzania and its neighboring nations. Their efforts over those four decades have touched countless lives with a message of love and hope — through weekend rallies, week-long camps, concerts, health care and workshops. In partnership with people from around the world, the New Life Ministry has built and operates the New Life Secondary and Vocational School to provide an education for students who otherwise would not have been able to continue past elementary school. Particularly important to their effort has been building a safe and respectful dormitory at the school for girls (as traditional practice has been for East African girls to remain in the home until they are married.) At the New Life Secondary and Vocational School, students have transformed their lives by completing four years of education, with many going on to further studies at colleges and universities that have led to careers that would have been unimaginable without this opportunity.
