Wildfires have raged across the Golden State in recent days, destroying thousands of homes and wiping out the town of Paradise, located north of Sacramento. The death toll continues to rise and large-scale, mandatory evacuations remain in place. The needs are both immediate and enormous. Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church is working with our ministry partners at Lutheran Disaster Response and Lutheran Social Services of Northern California to support individuals and families most in need. If you would like to make a direct on-line gift, click on this link to be redirected to Lutheran Disaster Response , where you can designate a gift for “U.S. wildfires” which will be used to help those affected by wildfires until the response is complete. Alternatively, you can place a gift/check (clear marked “Fire Relief”) in the offering plate at worship on Sunday morning or mail such to the church office. One hundred percent of all Fire Relief gifts will be used for direct support of those most affected by the fires. Together, we can help provide immediate comfort and long-lasting support.
